SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207

Unger, Stollings, Sypolt, Wells, White and Yoder)
Recognizing the service of the Honorable Vic Sprouse, member of the
West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and
distinguished West Virginian.
Whereas, Vic Sprouse was born April 29, 1968, in Altoona,
Pennsylvania, the son of Lawrence and Mary Sprouse; and
Whereas, Vic Sprouse is married to his beloved wife Lesleigh.
He is the proud father of three children, Marie Anne, Maxwell and
Anthony; and
Whereas, Vic Sprouse received his education from Pennsylvania
State University, where he earned a BS degree; and
Whereas, Vic Sprouse was elected to the West Virginia House of
Delegates in 1994; and
Whereas, In 1996, the Honorable Vic Sprouse was elected to the
West Virginia Senate from the eighth senatorial district; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, the Honorable Vic
Sprouse served as Senate Minority Leader during the 74th, 75th, 76th and 77th Legislatures. He served as a member of the Senate
committees on Finance, Rules, Education, the Joint Committee on
Government Operations, Joint Committee on Government and Finance,
Commission on Special Investigations and the Legislative Oversight
Commission on Workforce Investment for Economic Development; and
Whereas, The Honorable Vic Sprouse has decided not to seek
reelection to the West Virginia Senate in 2008, bringing to an end
a long and dedicated career of public service; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of the Honorable
Vic Sprouse, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public
servant and distinguished West Virginian; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere
appreciation to the Honorable Vic Sprouse for his dedication and
commitment to the citizens of the eighth senatorial district and
the State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Vic Sprouse.
